FAST Program
(509) 935-6649 x633 | FAST@ski49n.com
Our alpine racing team focuses on fun and fundamental skill development for the beginner to advanced racer, ages 5 and up. Program training provides the athletes with a mix of gate running and directed free skiing from December through the end of March or early April. Team goals go beyond the slopes with a focus on helping each athlete develop self-confidence, pride in accomplishment and an understanding of commitment and follow-through.
Our coaches are dedicated to developing young athletes with versatility, all-around athleticism and the ability to adapt tactically, both in and out of a racecourse. Family involvement is a key element to the success of our race programs. Parents' participation in hosting events and fundraisers make this an affordable and fun opportunity for the whole family.
This season we have added a new U14 3-Day Program (Fri-Sun) for our older athletes looking to push their performance to higher levels and compete on a larger stage. We will continue to offer a 2-day program for U14 athletes as well.
For those who are more interested in big mountain and freestyle/park, we are also reviving our Freeride Program for the 2024-25 season as a 2-day program on Saturdays and Sundays!
Please reach out with questions to FAST@ski49n.com or kcharbonneau@ski49n.com

As members of the Emerald Empire Youth Ski League (EEYSL) and the United States Ski Association (USSA), FAST athletes have an opportunity to compete in a variety of events with other EEYSL club racers within the Inland Northwest. Athletes are able to experience different mountains and events around the Inland Northwest.

For athletes ages 12-13, this program is separate from the U14 Program. It does not include participation in the U14 race series those athletes will be taking part in. There are smaller number of local YSL race events that include classes for this age range. The YSL Program is a good fit for athletes that want to train, be part of a team, and do a little bit of racing, but are less interested in taking the step into highly competitive racing.

Freeriders (ages 12-15)
Our Freeriders Program is all about creative expression on the slopes, from big mountain freeride lines to boosting jumps and sliding features in the park. Coaching focuses on building toward a mastery of individual skills and giving athletes the ability and freedom to blend those skills in limitless combinations, turning the whole mountain into a canvas for their art! The Saturday program will focus more on Freestyle and Terrain Park, while Sundays will focus more on all-mountian freeride terrain (steeps, bumps, glades, and natural terrain features).
